Kairos, Chronos
Original linocut print on archival Stonehenge white paper.
11 3/4” x 14” image on 22” x 15” paper
Limited edition of 30
The ancient Greeks had two concepts of time. Chronos is linear, clock-time. Somehow it feels there is never enough of this. Kairos is time outside of time, fullness of time, when time is ripe. It is about quality and not quantity. These are those wondrous moments that seem to exist outside of the boundaries of clock-time and are often marked, in my experience anyway, by wonder, amazement, awe or even simple contentment.
